I know what your thinking: with all that's been going on in the sports world the past month, why hasn't BreezyG blogged anything? But for most of my regular readers, you've figured it out.
Just two words: Fantasy Football.
At the end of most seasons (starting my 19th), I always say that's it. I've won titles, been there done that. But to paraphrase Michael Corleone said, "...every time I think I'm out, I get pulled back in." Now understand, I'm a rational sane guy. I'm not tripping, but...I do enjoy playing General Manager on draft day when I try to assemble my starting roster. I also enjoy playing Head Coach, making my picks of who to play each week. And when I win it's like Marv Albert when he says "Yessss!"
Rock climbing just didn't do it for me.
Part of the reason why I take it so seriously comes from my personal makeup. Just like I only blog about things that really hit me, the same with fantasy football. It's like what Sam Rothstein said on the movie Casino: "....otherwise, what's the point?" But I do have fun. Really, I do.
Part of the mix in our league includes women as league owners. Don't take out any Kleenex for these members: both of them made our playoffs last year. They ask for no quarter, give none and talk smack just as good as the others members of the league.
While this is not a promotion for my league, drop me a line if you're intrigued or looking for a league. This year's draft is on August 30th at 3:00pm. Like the commercial says, seating is limited.
