- In 1993, Toronto Blue Jay Joe Carter hit a walk-off home run in the bottom of the 9th to win the World Series over the Phillies. The only other time that has happened was when Pirate Bill Mazeroski won the World Series with his home run against the Yankees.
- In 1983, Lorenzo Charles' dunk at the buzzer gave the NC State Wolfpack a 54-52 NCAA Tournament championship win over the Houston Cougars. The Houston team featured future Hall-of-Famers Hakeem Olajuwon and Clyde Drexler.
- The Music City Miracle happened on my birthday in January of 2000. Doug Christie kicked off, and Titans player Lorenzo Neal received. Great reflection my man!! One of the greatest shots eva!!
ReplyDeleteOK here are few for me:
ReplyDelete1) Roberto Clemente beating the Orioles single handedly in the 1971 World Series ,hits, stealing bases, throwing people out from deep in Center field. By the way the Orioles were up 3-1 in the series against the Pirates and loss the series. As a footnote the Orioles were up 3-1 against the Pirates in the 1979 World Series also and again loss to the Pirates (Willie Stargell and Dave Parker were on both teams)
2) Magic taking over a game and winning the series against Boston. His play in game three eventually propelled the Lakers over the series with Boston.
3) How can you forget David Justice scoring the only run in the Braves only World Series win. This after calling the fans of Atlanta "too quiet " at the games. He was abused by the fans at that game and by the media. He hit a home run in the fifth and that home run was the only score of the game.
Just a few ANDY
