Anniversary

How ya doin sports fans? Friday was the one year anniversary of “The Decision”, the much to do TV extravaganza regarding NBA baller Lebron James decision to take his talents to South Beach. He joined his pals from the Olympics, Chris Bosh and Dwayne Wade (my boy) to make a run to win not just one but two, three, four even five or more titles during their run with the Heat. This is one NBA fan’s review of that decision.

From an old school’s fan’s point of view, James’s show put him in T.O.’s class of ego. For more shrew fans, you knew he wasn’t staying in Cleveland. What gets me is the look he had as if to say,” I didn’t want to do all this…this is what my people set up for me.” Remember, he is trying to be a global icon.

Actually, at the end of the week, Bron-Bron was only two wins away from his first NBA title. He didn’t help his cause in the series, scoring less than double digits in the 4th quarter for the series. He seems to be part of that generation that expects everything to be handed to him. Just when I was getting ready to say how much James has matured, he slam dunks on a middle school kid at his basketball camp during a pickup game. I guess he really does love him some him.

Let me be the first to say that I have no problem with free agents going where they want to go. The real question is, after the collective bargaining agreement is ratified (whenever that will be), how many more “Decision” shows there will be in the future.
