Let's Start the Dance

Let the madness begin...Oh wait, it's already begun.

The Men's D1 basketball championship began in earnest yesterday and like it's nickname, it did not disappoint. Starting right off the top with last's year's finalist (Butler) hitting a last second shot to beat Old Dominion and the game I saw live (after work, of course) Morehouse State hitting their own last second shot to take out fellow Kentuckian Louisville from the Big East. The University of Kentucky needed their own last second shot to survive against Princeton. In fact, there were six games yesterday that ended with a margin of three points or less. This included the loss of my darkhorse final four pick, Michigan State, who almost came all the way back from 23 points down in the second half to lose to UCLA. One of my other final four picks (and my favorite team aside from the Hoyas), San Diego State survived the first day. The only other factor that I want to mention for today's games is that Duke's super freshman Kyrie Irving, who was averaging 17 points a game before injuring his toe, will play today.

Not much more to say. Now excuse me while I get my popcorn ready. Enjoy your weekend!!!

Today's Friday Freeze Jukebox is dedicated to rapper Nate Dogg. R.I.P. :
